Mary concept doodles

This is a collection of doodles that I'm having some difficulty parsing. These were all on a page following the "Roomies! proto-strips" that I uploaded to Deviant Art not too long ago. Judging by the... strata, if you will, as I assume the pages in this sketchbook are roughly chronological, I would have drawn some of the art on this page very early in Roomies!, about a year before Mary was introduced.

So what I'm thinking is that some of the drawings of Mary here were very early, and the rest were drawn in later. The rounder faces in the upper left match my earlier Roomies! style, while the sharper-edged faces match my style from around the time closer to when Mary first appeared.

And, uh, hey, glasses. Was that a proto-Ruth there, or did I toy with the idea of giving Mary glasses? This was... 13 years ago, so at this point all I can really do is guess.
